Portrait Studios of Detroit's Polonia: The Face of Polish Immigration

The Hamtramck Historical Museum is proud to host this display of classic photos taken of the Polish community in Hamtramck and the Poletown neighborhood of Detroit a century ago. Such studios as Pieronek, Smart Set, Moderne, Hoffman and many more recorded people, places and special events of that time providing a rich insight into early immigrant life. The presentation  is made possible through a grant from the Michigan Humanities Council to the Polish Mission of the Orchard Lake Schools, where the display currently is. It will be at the Hamtramck Historical Museum, Nov. 1 to 22, and then travel to the Clinton-Macomb Public Library.
